Will Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro Air Bags Help Level My Truck When Towing a Fifth Wheel?
Published 09/24/2026 >
Question:
My truck squats in the rear when I hook up my fifth wheel and the ride gets pretty soft and bouncy. Will the Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro PB22KJ help level the truck and improve stability while towing?

Hey Gary, thanks for reaching out. Yes, absolutely! The Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro # PB22KJ is designed specifically to add rear suspension support when your truck is carrying a heavy load or towing a trailer. The air springs provide up to 7,500 lbs of load-leveling capacity, letting you adjust the pressure to bring the truck back toward level and reduce rear-end sag, body roll, and that bouncy feeling you can get with a heavy fifth wheel or gooseneck.
This kit comes with manual inflation valves, so you can adjust the air pressure with a standard air compressor just like filling a tire. Keep in mind that the 7,500-lb rating does not increase the truck's GVWR, payload, or axle ratings; it provides additional support for loads already within the truck's limits.
The # PB22KJ kit is custom fit for the 2020-2027 Chevy/GMC 2500 and 3500.
What truck do you have and what camper are you hauling?
