Updated 03/17/2026 | Published 03/09/2026

Question:

I purchased a redarc TPSI-002 tow pro switch for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and it doesn’t fit. Searching your site it looks like I need a 331-TPSI-007 is that correct?

Hi Randy,

Congrats on the new redarc brake controller. The tow pro is a great choice.

I confirmed with Redarc that for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, the correct Tow Pro switch insert panel is part # 331-TPSI-007. That insert is designed specifically for your Tacoma’s dash layout so it should snap into place properly and maintain that stock look without drilling or modifying the panel.

What are you towing with the TRD Pro once this is buttoned up, and where are you headed first?

The switch panel I received with my order wasn’t the right one for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. I reached out to etrailer and gave them the measurements of the switch blank on my dash, right next to the rear window switch. They found the one I needed which was part # 331-TPSI-007. It fits perfectly and looks factory. I pull a 16’ dump trailer and can’t even tell it’s there when I need to apply the brakes.

@JesseK Thank you for verifying that Jesse! That is a glowing review of the Redarc. People really like the Redarc products for those exact reasons.

I installed mine in a 2015 Tacoma, used one of the small blank knock outs on the dash. Works perfectly for my Dark Horse trailer. Towed from Kansas to upstate net York and back. No issues as long as you adjust the level for the weight in the trailer. I did not order a special plate for the controller, just drilled a small hole for the controller knob.

@Kevin Really I appreciate you sharing your setup. You’re absolutely right too, the Tow Pro is super flexible and can be mounted that way using one of the knockout panels with a drilled hole. That’s a great option if you don’t mind a little modification.
