Question:

I am looking to flat tow my 24 Raptor with my Class C Thor Inception. I am hoping to get a list of what I need. I also have seen electric vs air brake options and I am curious what is recommended. Thanks

Hi Scott! I would be happy to put together a list so you can flat tow your 2024 Raptor. You will need a tow bar, base plate, safety cables, wiring, and a brake system. I recommend the following:

-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU33FR

-Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BLU28QV (includes safety cables)

-Blue Ox Universal Tow Bar Cover # BLU53QV (optional)

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25

-Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

-Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System # SM99243 or # DM26VR (with wireless monitoring)

The Air Force one is definitely the best option since it was specifically designed to work with the air brakes on your Thor Inception. It provides true proportional braking directly from the coach's air system.

You may also need a high-low adapter like the # e52ZV to keep your setup level. The base plate has a bracket heigh of 16-1/2" and you want to be +/- 3" of level. You can measure from the ground to the center of your hitch on the Inception to see if and adapter is required. I attached an article further down on this page which explains how to measure as well.

Where are you headed once you get your Raptor all set up? If you have any other questions feel free to reach out in the comments below.

The options are limitless when it comes to installing a tow package for your toad: E-trailer is a wonderful resource; They sell everything you need: Blue Ox is the bulk of my system; Braking was different for me in that I chose mechanical (NSA). The main this you have to do is pick a system that meets and exceeds your weight requirements. The trick here is to account for weight on top of your vehicle. You should be fine with everything, but for me it tto several months of research because there are numerous options. Trust e-trailer and do your homework.
