Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this CURT T Connector vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit wiring harness that is designed to fit your 2020 and newer Buick Encore GX without LED taillights. Now this harness is going to provide a four pole flat trailer connector at the back of your Encore to power your trailer signal lights. This is going to be compatible with five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters.

And of course those adapters are sold separately and included, as you can see here, is a dust cap for that four pole flat connector and that dust cap is going to cover up those connection points when this plug is not being used. Now the black box at the back of this harness here, right here, this is our powered taillight converter. This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches out of your trailer. It connects directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system, reducing the strain on your vehicle's wiring system. And CURT builds each converter using surface mount technology for consistent, reliable performance.

It maximizes trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, ensuring superior operation even in rough road conditions. So this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. The connections with the yellow wires are going to go to the driver's side and the connections with the green wires are gonna go to the passenger side of your Encore. Now you will need to locate your Encore's wiring harness which is located in your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the rear scuff panel, storage trays, and side trim panel to access this harness.

And once you locate the connectors, you're then going to separate the connectors and you wanna be careful not to break the locking tabs. And then you're going to insert the T connector ends here between the Encore's wiring connectors and lock them into place. These T connectors are custom fitted for your Encore so they're going to match up perfectly with the connection points on your Encore and they're going to snap and lock together for a tight secure fit. Now once you have these plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection. The ground wire is this white wire, and as you can see, it has a ring terminal attached to it and it does come with a self-tapping screw as you can see right here.

So you can get this grounded to a suitable location such as your vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that that surface is clean and rust free. You will then need to mount this converter box to a safe, out of the way location. You can use another mounting screw that's not included with this kit to mount this or you can use the included double-sided adhesive tape or one of the many cable ties that's going to be provided for you in this kit. Next, you're going to need to run a hot lead to the vehicle battery. That's this short black wire that's coming out of this converter box. This short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire using one of the included butt connectors. Then the other end of this bundled wire is going to get routed to your vehicle's battery. Once you have this routed to the battery of your vehicle, you're then going to take this fuse holder and connect one of the wires with the second butt connector to the routed wire. And then the other half of this fuse holder is going to get this included ring terminal attached to it. And then that's going to connect to the positive posts of your vehicle's battery. It does come with this 10 amp fuse that's going to go into this fuse holder. Then it has this fuse cap here to keep that fuse safe and protected. You can secure any excess or slack in your wiring with the included cable ties that I mentioned before and then just some overall specs of this wiring harness. The maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is five amps per circuit and for the tail lights it's 7.5 amps per circuit. Instructions are included to walk you through the insulation process and it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pole connector itself. And this grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture.
