Trailer Hitch Receiver Compatible With Hands Free Lift Gate On a 2022 Buick Encore GX

Question:

Do you sell a 2inch hitch for a 2022 Buick Encore GX that has the hands-free tailgate sensor? I saw that the Curt hitch says it is not compatible with the sensor. Does that mean the sensor wont work, or that this hitch cannot or should not be installed? Is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch compatible with the sensor? The Draw Tite has a higher tongue weight and trailer weight capacity than the Curt hitch, for a lower price. Any advantages to the Curt hitch?

I reached out to Curt for some clarification on their Receiver # C93VV and they said the receiver physically hits the module for the hands free liftgate. They did not test the fit with this part removed as they said it could cause other components to fail as they are not experts in the programming and ECU for the 2022 Buick Encore GX. As we have no way to verify if it would fit with the sensor removed I would not advise using this receiver.

I do see the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT55GR will fit with the hands free liftgate but like my RDX you will limit the area you are able to perform the kicking motion to active the lift gate.

Thanks for your assistance with this issue. Since the Draw-Title DT55GR will work with the hands-free sensor, I think I will get that one, even if the kicking area is limited. Bill
