Hey Stuart, for 4,400 AL KO trailer axles the correct replacement brake assemblies are part # K23-478-479. We've confirmed these fit the AL KO axles several times over the years. I wish we had a hub that fit the AL Ko 4,400 lb hubs but at this time we do not have anything.

I had a break assembly disintegrate in rural MI and could not find a local shop who could get the replacement. The break assemblies are specific to the axle size and are specific for the right and left sides. I contacted etrailer who overnighted the parts to a trailer dealer (I couldn’t get any local RV dealer or tire store who would be willing to make the repair) who installed it for me. From that point on I carried the replacement assemblies as spares but never used them. I watched the installation and it looks like a piece of cake. I sold the trailer but still have both in their original cartons.

Hey, just shooting in the dark here. I used these same brake assemblies on a dexter 4,000 lb axle but I think they’re rated for 4400lb. I was also able to use hub K08-426-91. I really don’t remember the bolt pattern or dimensions.

Installed mine on 4400 dexter axles. Make sure the whole pattern measures out with your bolt pattern because dexter in their infinite wisdom did not space them evenly. Other than that you will need to do some backing up to set them. On my trailer between the backing and driving took about 200 miles for everything to settle in.

I put a set of the never adjust on my camping trailer. It is 2021 and hi mileage, the brakes were so far out of adjustment they didn’t work at all. E trailer helped make sure I got the right brakes, backing plates and all. You need to adjust when you put on, then you must go through a series of stops, abandoned parking lot works best. Best investment.
