I want to convert my oversprung trailer to an undersprung system. My axles are 2 square. Is there a conversion kit for square axles? I have a tandem boat trailer. GVWR is about 7,000

Expert Reply:
Hey Stephen. All you should need to do to flip a 2" square axle is to use the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2" Square Trailer Axles item # CE23103. You'll be able to reorientate your axle below your springs with this setup. This kit is designed for 3,500 lbs axles and is sold individually.
Please note you will most likely need to drill new alignment holes opposite of the original ones on the axle tube. A conversion/axle flip kit is more involved because thicker round axles have spring seats welded into them.

Sounds good. I have a 24' Skipjack fly bridge. Made some mods to the trailer, Built over sprung springs to I had a lower center of gravity as need to trailer boat as much as 50 mi. one way and wanted lower CG for driving. Now I use an duo prop out drive which is longer and need clearance when not lifted and washing down. Thank you for the info.
