Can Furrion Chill HE Upper Unit Replace Blizzard AC Unit
Updated 02/18/2026 | Published 02/13/2026 >
Question:
I have a customer thinking about replacing their existing Blizzard AC, part H551916A721JO. It is connected to a single zone CT thermostat. This is a ducted system with no ceiling access. Will the FR42PV Furrion unit replace that and if so, is any conversion kit required to keep the existing thermostat? I know the Advent replacement is discontinued, any other suggestions? Thanks, Bill

There isn't a good way to adapt between brand upper AC units and lower vent assemblies/thermostats. At one point we thought there were ways to do that reliably but we were wrong. It's also further complicated by fact AC units sold before January 2025 use a different refrigerant. So only real solution is an entirely new kit that includes everything like the Furrion Chill Cube # FR69TD. The Chill Cube is the quietest, coldest blowing, and lowest drawing unit so they'll really like it if you can convince them to try it.

Jameson, you apparently missed the fact that this is ducted unit being replaced that does not use a ceiling assembly. I need to know what is required to adapt the new Furrion upper unit to the existing Dometic thermostat. Are there any additional parts for required for that.
