Looking for Mounting Hardware for RV Skylight

Updated 02/09/2026 | Published 02/01/2026

Question:

Hi, I’m just curious if you can point me in the direction for the type of replacement screws that I will install the new skylights with. I would like to have them on hand instead of grabbing one after I remove the old ones and matching them up at Home Depot. Thanks so much.

Hey Tom, we don't have a way to know what your RV has as far as mounting hardware for the current skylight so you would need to remove what you have now and reuse it or replace it at a hardware store. There's a really good chance what you have can be reused though.

Hi Tom. I purchased this skylight and just reused the original screws like Jameson mentioned. You’ll need to clean the sealant off of them but that’s easy. The only reason you would need to use new screws would be if your skylight has been leaking for a while and the screws have rusted, but in that case you’re likely going to run into deeper roof issues like wood rot.

I removed all of the screws and cleaned them. They worked fine for the installation of the new skylight. If you did need some new screws the local hardware store could be helpful.

When ever I replace any hardware I go back with Stainless Steel. For the skylight I used #10 x 1-1/4" sheet metal screws from Home Depot.
