Looking For Replacement Ladder Receiver For Retractable RV Ladder

Updated 02/02/2026 | Published 01/27/2026

Question:

Hello I have a retractable ladder with the bracket for my rv. Well I just moved and I noticed that bracket is broken and I was just wondering if you have a replacement bracket for the ladder or do I have to purchase a whole new one.

Hello Elizabeth, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you are needing to replace the ladder receiver on the back of your RV. Unfortunately, these brackets are only installed from the factory, and we do not have an aftermarket replacement option for that. You could try reaching out directly to Lippert to see if they can provide one.

Otherwise, you can still use a telescoping ladder like part # LC64HD without the bracket. You just want to be sure the ladder is tall enough to extend past the roof of the RV. I've seen a few of these ladders used without the bracket and they have worked fine without any issues.

Did you mean that the bracket on the ladder is broken?

@MikeS Ah yea you might be right, Mike. Didn't think of that. The bracket on the ladder itself is not something we offer separately. They only come with the ladder itself. Lippert might be able to provide one, but I'm not seeing they list a part number for it.

Jesse is correct. The brackets that you’re speaking of are only at the factory. I purchased my ladder well after my RV was made. I attach a couple of pipe insulation or pool noodles to protect the point where the ladder touches the RV. I also purchased the next length of ladder up from what I thought I needed. The reason I did this was you’re not always on ground that is level on all sides of the RV. The added length gives me plenty of options and a sturdy way to set the ladder against the RV while still having a solid base of the ladder. I would say the only downside to a larger ladder is the increased weight of the ladder. Overall these are great ladders that I even use at home. they take up a lot less room than traditional ladders. The quality of the ladder is very good.

@Wayne Thanks for chiming in, Wayne, and I appreciate you backing that up with real-world experience. The tip about using pipe insulation or pool noodles where the ladder contacts the RV is a great idea, and going a size longer for uneven ground makes a lot of sense too. Thanks again for taking the time to share!
