Can You Use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Bike Rack on a Class B Van?

Updated 01/29/2026 | Published 01/24/2026

Question:

The Hollywood Racks website says the Sportrider is not to be used for any RV. I have a class B Van. Will the HLY87RRi be OK for it?

Hey Art,

I was able to confirm with Hollywood Racks, the Sport Rider # HLY87RR can be used on a class B van! Generally, racks that can fold like the Sport Rider won't be rated for towable RVs or travel trailers. The reason is that they have significantly more movement at the hitch due to the distance from the rear axle to the end of the trailer or because the suspension is not as effective in many cases as a van.

If you don't have an anti-rattle accessory for your receiver, check out # e38FV. It's easy to install and eliminates a lot of that movement when you hit bumps in the road.

Thanks for checking with Hollywood Racks on the Sports rider HLY877RR for my camper van. You also suggested your anti wobble accessory which I appreciate, I see that the bike rack comes with an anti wobble device. Do I need yours in addition to there's?

@ArtC Nope, since the Sport Rider # HLY87RR has a built-in anti-wobble system, I recommend installing it as is! The collar can help reduce chucking a bit more if you decide to add it, but it isn’t necessary in this case.
