Can Fastway e2 Spring Bars Be Swapped for New Trailer With Lower Tongue Weight

Updated 01/15/2026 | Published 01/13/2026

Question:

I bought a new trailer, downsized to a Geo Pro 20fbs, loaded tongue weight around 600 lbs. I kept my the Fastway WDH 92-00-1000. Can I just replace the spring bars or do I need a new WDH? Will Part no: FA92-02-0899 work?

Hey Jeffrey! Yes, you can trade out the spring bars on your Fastway e2 for the Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar for Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Systems # FA92-02-0899. This will turn your system into the # FA92-00-0800 so your tongue weight will be right in the middle of that 400-800 lb range.

Any big trips coming up with your new Geo Pro?

I have used an E2 system since 2015. Original trailer weighed 3500lbs, used 600lb weight bars. New trailer weighs 6000lbs. Using a Cat truck stop scale I determined the tongue weight was 740lbs. I called ETrailer and purchased 800lb bars. I went back to the scale & weighed the truck(Ram 1500) & trailer with the 600lb bars, then replaced the bars with the new 800lb bars. The result was 80 lbs transferring from the truck drive axel to the steer & trailer axels. The upgraded bars results in a very comfortable trailer towing experience.
