Can Firestone Analogue Gauge Compressor Be Upgraded To Air Command ECU?

I have a current Firestone Ride-Rite air bag system 2528 with the in-cab analog pressure gauge/switch. Can I convert this setup to Firestones Air Command ECU OR Air Ride remote to control air bag pressures?

Hello Ryan, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can convert it, but it is not a straight swap. Your Firestone Ride-Rite 2582 bags will work just fine, but the in-cab analog gauge and switch don’t tie into Firestone’s Air Command wireless or ECU systems. To do it right, you will remove/bypass the analog controller and install an Air Command wireless compressor and manifold setup. The Firestone Air Command Heavy Duty Air Compressor # F96VV is both smartphone and remote enabled so that is what I recommend if you want to upgrade and go wireless.

Thanks Jesse, really solid response and much appreciated. So I can't just run a new wire from my current on board compressor to a new Air Command ECU module? I assume my current compressor does NOT have the correct external port to run a new wire to a wireless module? Dang! Although it would be nice I can't justify $1200 just so I can press a button on my phone. I was really hopeful. Again, you guys are great with responses - really appreciate this!

@Ryan Hey Ryan yes the compressor from an analogue gauge system cannot be converted to wireless the connections are different. That said, there are less expensive wireless compressor options. The Air Lift remote/Bluetooth enabled compressor # AL25980EZ is priced quite a bit lower. It'll be compatible with the Firestone air bags they use the same line and fitting size and everything. The Firestone # F96VV I mentioned comes with an auxiliary hose for filling tires and stuff. Totally optional feature but it is nice to have. Part # F56VV is the same remote/smartphone compressor system just without the aux hose.

@JesseM Got it thanks, you guys are on it. The Firestone "Product Specialist" just emailed me today and said: Ryan, Thank you for contacting Firestone Airide. You can convert your system from analog to wireless by purchasing the ecu and wiring harness for your system. Those part numbers are WR17609535 and WR17609534. You can then use the app "Air Command" or purchase the remote WR17609968. Regards, Just confirming I'm not crazy here. I let them know the wire harness port in the wire harness picture is NOT the same as my current compressor connection. So, that's a bit concerning they'd point me toward another $500 purchase without knowing it would work. Yikes Just want to make sure I'm getting the right info either way.

@Ryan Hey Ryan. Yea that doesn't sound quite right to me. Like you noted the compressor model and connections are different which backs up what I was thinking originally. Plus looking at the cost of those two parts, you aren't too far off from the cost of that # AL25980EZ wireless system I mentioned. Looks like we also have the # AL25980 on sale right now if you want something even more budget friendly.
