Recommended 6,000 lbs Axle w/ 86-1/2" Hub Face and Braking Hubs w/a 6 on 5-1/2 Lug Nut Pattern

Question:

I am curious about axle measurements from spring to spring center. Your website specifies 71.5” for my application, but other websites specify 70”. Is there a reason for this?

Hey Jeff not sure what else it is you're looking at. The Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes item # e73SR come with spring seats welded onto them at 71-1/2" apart. This is measured from the center to the opposite center of the mounting bolts. This is one of our etrailer branded axles.

The etrailer item # e73SR is a 6,000 lbs axle with a 86-1/2" long hub face and comes with easy grease braking hubs that have a 6 on 5-1/2 lug nut pattern. I attached a diagram below so you can see these measurements.

How far apart are the spring seats on your current axle? You'll want to match what you currently have now or you'll have to move the spring seats and replace them with item # TRSS300.

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Reply to Jerred H.

I am looking at this axle: https://thetrailerpartsoutlet.com/products/6000-lb-tk-trailer-axle-6k-electric-brake-6-lug?variant=39969047806033 The dimensions listed for their axles are different than yours. Aren’t these standard sizes?

@Jeff No, there's no standard size 6,000 lbs axle. The one in your link is a completely different axle than the etrailer item # e73SR you were looking at. How far apart are the spring seats on your current axle?

@Jeff The differences are the hub face dimension and the spring seat dimension. The one you were looking at and the etrailer item # e73SR are an 1-1/2" different on both. You'll need to measure your axle's hub face and spring seat distance and then try to find a 6,000 lbs axle that matches those. How far apart are the spring seats on your current axle? What is the hub face measurement on your current axle?
