1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Kenda Karrier KR53. It's an ST225-75R15 radial trailer tire with a beautiful 15 inch silver mod wheel with a lug pattern of six on five and 1/2. Now folks, this tire and wheel combination is gonna be great for stock trailers, utility trailers, campers, and those kind of things. It has been created specifically for trailers, and so therefore it's not intended for use on any vehicle.
Now, the steel wheel with the modular design here, that's those round holes on the outside there, that's gonna give you a nice elegant look. It's super sturdy and corrosion-resistant. They use a two step finishing process, which includes an E-coat primer, and then this beautiful silver powder coat finish you're seeing there. So, you don't have to worry about corrosion, rust, those kind of things. And as far as the tire itself, again, it's a Kenda Karrier KR53.
It's a ST or special trailer radial tire, so that means it's low weight. It's gonna provide better fuel economy on long trips. And the sidewalls here, because it's made for a trailer, they have been engineered and give you an extra enhanced durability and resistance to ozone exposure. So, dry riding, those kind of things, you shouldn't have to worry too much about. Now the tread pattern, as you can see, it's been computer optimized.
It's a wide tread design, and it uses their premium rubber compound makeup, and that's gonna offer superior traction in both wet and dry conditions alike. So a nice deep tread, very wide. It's actually a 8.4 section width. And as far as an outer diameter overall, when it's inflated like it is today, 28.1 inches in diameter. The wheel, again, is a 15 inch diameter.
That just means bead seat to bead seat it's 15 inches, and the wheel itself is six inches wide. Now, as far as the wheel bolt size, that's gonna be 1/2 inch by 20. And the pilot diameter here, that is a 4.27 inch. So if you're putting a wheel cap in there or something, it's a 4.27 inch pilot diameter. And you can purchase wheel caps separately here at etrailer.com. The tire itself is a load range D, and that means it's an 8-ply tire. And the speed range is a N, and that's rated at 87 miles per hour. You can find all that information stamped in the rubber on the sidewall of the tire itself. Now, obviously, everything here has been DOT certified and meets all DOT specs. Well, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together, folks. Fast shipping, convenient tire/rim combo, and packed well in a box. Disappointed that multiple tires had a date code of 3924 despite the rims having a date of 11/19/25 when it's now 2/25/2026. So the tires are almost 1.5 years old when first bring put into service. I would have liked fresher tires, but they appear to have been stored well enough that it may not be an issue.
Tire and wheel arrived in perfect flawless condition. Tire was shipped in a strong square box which protected the wheel during shipping. Tire and wheel are of excellent quality especially considering the very reasonable price point. Will order again for future trailer needs.
