Question:
Wouldn’t the hitch ball be in the same place on the truck?

Hey Norm, with the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System part # AM3200 you can have the frame of the hitch installed with the "ball" forward or back depending on if you need more offset. I would recommend having it orientated so that the ball is in the rear most position for best turning clearance. This adapter installs into a set of above bed fifth wheel rails and is not the version that attaches to a gooseneck ball in the truck bed if thats by chance what you mean?
The picture I attached shows it installed in forward position.

My hitch has an arrow to point towards the tailgate. If I can in fact turn it around this would help my weight distribution a lot. My trailer sits very far back on my long bed. The only thing I can do is turn the funnel attachment around on the trailer but the weight on the truck would still be in the same location. Clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Can I turn the whole fifth wheel hitch around safely? The one bolted to the truck. Thank you.
