What Is The Brake Flange Bolt Spacing For Terran Axle Electric Trailer Brakes TX97ZJ?
Updated 02/02/2026 | Published 12/04/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I am rebuilding an older trailer. There are not any axle ID numbers, so my guess is it is a 3500 axle since all the info I find matches. The only info I cannot find is the brake flange bolt spacing. Thanks, Dan

Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out. The Terran Axle Electric Trailer Brakes # TX97ZJ use a standard 4-bolt brake flange. The spacing between the bolt holes is 2-7/8" center to center. This is standard for modern 3,500 lb axles. Some older axles do not use the same standard bolt spacing so you will definitely want to measure and confirm this matches. I edited a picture to help illustrate.
What kind of trailer do you have?

Hey Dan, how did your measurements turn out on the brake flange for your trailer rebuild? It’d be great to know if the spacing matched the standard 3,500 lb axle pattern. Your update could make it easier for others working on older trailers.
