How Thick is Plastic Guide of etrailer E Track Wheel Tie-Down Straps with Roller Idler and Ratchet

Published 12/04/2025

Question:

Could you please give me the thickness of the black blocks that engage the tire treads? Ill be using them on a Honda Goldwing reverse trike conversion and dont have a lot of room to snake the straps between the tire and fiberglass fender. Photo from a recent pothole event that knocked the crappy fender mount loose shifting it into the tire smoking it

Hey Richard, the black plastic guide blocks for the etrailer E Track Wheel Tie-Down Straps with Roller Idler and Ratchet # e62NR that you referenced are going to be right at an inch tall including the little ridges on top of the block. Just looking at your pictures I believe you would have enough clearance but you would want to measure to be sure. Must have been a pretty big pothole to knock the fender mount loose!

I'll never get those between my fender and tire so I'm left with two options, cut them off or pull the fenders to haul. Tomorrow I'll see if I can snake just a strap over the tire and if so, I'll go with option one. Pothole wasnt that big. This thing has a long history of fender bracket breakage and shifting due to design problems and sloppy robotic welds. That reflector you see is factory installed using gorilla tape so you get the idea! I just bought a used Aluma MC 210 and need to find out what bearings races and seals (and anything else) I need to make sure its tip top. I think everything in my cart is compatible so I'll add bags, etc, and hit the buy button Friday or first of the week. Thanks for the help.

@RichardJ Glad to help! If you need help with the bearings let me know the axle capacity of the trailer and we can pick out what you need.
