Hello Robert,
Happy to get you a flat tow set-up using the Roadmaster Night Hawk tow bars. Here is what you will need:
- Baseplate: If you have the Hybrid ST-Line # RM59GR, if you have the Hybrid Platinum # RM77GR
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676
- Vehicle Protector: Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screen for Towed Vehicles # RM-4750
- Wiring: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152
- Brake Light Switch: Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000
- Charge line (keeps your battery charged in towed vehicle): Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
- Braking System: If your coach has air brakes # DM26VR, if your coach has hydraulic brakes # DM86VR
For the braking system under tech notes: Once vehicle is set in Tow Mode, it is critical that you wait at least 10 minutes for the vehicle to enter Sleep Mode. If the vehicle is not in Sleep Mode it will overbrake, causing severe, non-warranty damage.
You will most likely need a high-low adapter to achieve level towing. To determine the correct one, I’ll need a few measurements from you. I’ve attached a picture from Roadmaster showing where the baseplate will mount. While the vehicle is on level ground, please measure from the ground to where the arms will attach. Then, with the coach on level ground, measure from the ground to the upper inside edge of the receiver. Please comment with both measurements when you have them.
I’ve attached a helpful article on the must-have components for flat towing. Are you new to flat towing, or just getting a new vehicle set up?

Hey Robert, how did your flat tow setup with the Roadmaster Nighthawk work out on your Escape Hybrid? Were the measurements for the high-low adapter close to what you expected? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar system.
