Plate To Roll Fridge Cart Into 5x10 Concession Trailer With Big Drop Off On Ramp Door edge

Updated 11/26/2025 | Published 11/19/2025

Question:

I’m setting up a 5x10 concession trailer with a ramp door. Will one of these plates help my small fridge cart roll in smoother?

Definitely, Renee - either one will fix that gap. For your size trailer, I’d go with the aluminum transition plate # M348FR since it’s lighter and plenty strong for equipment like that. It gives you a nice 14 inch transition area.

Are you planning to mount it inside the trailer or at the outer ramp edge? That’ll affect where you line up the hinge.

One thing I noticed is that the plate might be too big for your 5 foot wide trailer. You may need to trim the aluminum, so if you're okay with that, I'd still recommend this setup. If not, let me know and I can see if there's a smaller one that fits that trailer. For example, the Caliber Edge Glide 2.0 Transition Plate for Enclosed Trailers - 4' Long # CA42TJ may be a better fit.

I used that Caliber Edge Glide on my sled trailer. works decent but not as solid as a metal plate. But if you can't find anything else to fit, the Caliber does suffice.

@Calvin Thanks for the input, Calvin! The Caliber piece is lighter and great for light skis or small wheels, but for heavier concession equipment like Renee’s fridge cart with wheels, the aluminum # M348FR is going to be sturdier and longer-lasting I'd imagine.
