Good question Zane. None of the Zerostart battery heating pads include a thermostat. They provide constant, steady heat whenever plugged into 120V AC, so it’s best to run them on a plug-in timer or a thermo-switch that kicks on below 32F or a timer that kicks on during the night when it's coldest. That gives you automatic control and extends pad life.
Have you already got a timer in mind? Also, what size battery do you have? Here are some options to look at:
- # ZE77FR for group 22NF, 26, 26R, 51, 51R, and 70 batteries
- # ZE87FR for group 24, 24F, 24H, 24R, 24T, 25, 27, 27F, 27H, 31, 34, 34R, 35, 38, and 74 batteries
- # ZE27FR for group 31 or series-parallel configurations like heating multiple batteries in a bank (golfcarts, RVs etc.)
