Hey Kris, thanks so much for reaching out! Great news - the CVT Timber Creek Annex for Car Camping # RG35ZV will absolutely fit your 2019 Toyota Tacoma with the RSI sport cap. In fact, this annex was designed with trucks that have toppers in mind, so it’s a perfect match for your setup. It’ll give you some extra covered space to spread out and stay dry, whether you’re camping through a storm or just want a little more room to relax. You’re going to love how it transforms your camp setup!

Hey Kris, how did the CVT Timber Creek Annex work out with your Tacoma and RSI sport cap? Did it give you the extra covered space you were hoping for at the tailgate? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar truck camping setup.

I was looking at this option for my 22 Ford F350 but wasn’t sure how much of the tent area would be filled with the tailgate and if the overall height would allow the hatch on my leer topper to open fully. I currently use the soft topper camper top tent but it holds the hatch down further than I’d like. The extra area also seems nice with this one.

@EdZ Hey Ed! Yes, the CVT Timber Creek Annex # RG35ZV will work well on your 2022 Ford F-350 with a Leer topper, and it does allow the topper hatch to open fully. Since the annex walls drop straight down from the tent platform, they don’t restrict the upward swing of the rear glass like some soft camper-style tents can. As for space inside the annex, the dropped tailgate will take up roughly half of the usable front-to-back depth of the annex. There is a little flexibility in how the annex is positioned, but that’s a good rule of thumb. Even with the tailgate down, you’ll still have usable floor space on the sides and behind it, making the annex a nice sheltered area for changing, gear storage, or light movement.
