Installation of Curt RVi Series Towed Battery Charger+ in 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor

Updated 10/29/2025 | Published 10/25/2025

Question:

I do have a few questions about this item. I recently bought a 2025 Ranger Raptor. I specifically bought the Raptor because it can be flat towed. I have a class C Jayco motorhome and have the Raptor set up to tow behind the motorhome with a motorhome dealer-installed DEMCO Stay-In-Play duo braking system. I’ve towed the Raptor only twice, and for about 40 miles each time. I am getting ready to make a longer trip, about 400 miles, at the end of the year. I am concerned about battery issues, which is why I am looking at this product. Where does the box mount- in the motorhome? Then, the lines run from the motorhome battery to the towed vehicle battery? I would prefer not to install this myself although I probably could because the Raptor has so many sophisticated electronics. Would I have this installed at my RV dealer, or at Ford? I appreciate your follow-up.

Hey Doug! The Curt RVi Series Towed Battery Charger+ (TBC+) for Flat Towing # RVI74FR actually installs on the vehicle side so it will go in your 2025 Ranger Raptor. Your Jayco probably has a charge line already, which would be a 12V line running through your 7-way. If you don't have one you can add one using the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.

The installation of the TBC+ is pretty simple so you can probably do it yourself. You have to mount the box and then you connect it to your battery and run the other line up to your 6-way on the front of the truck. The full installation instructions are linked below. I recommend looking through them to see if you think you can complete the installation.

If not, you can take it to an RV dealer or Ford dealer. Either one works but Ford will probably charge you more. I added a link further down on this page for our dealer locator if you want to use an RV dealer. All you have to do is enter your zip code to find what is nearby.

Thank you! Since posting my question, I went back to the installer and confirmed THERE IS a charge line in place. The original invoice did not show that. So I’m good to go. I appreciate the response. ??
