Hey John, the weight of the Andersen weight distribution # AM3350 is 53 lbs and the Blue Ox # BXW1000 weighs 95 lbs. Worth mentioning is that the Blue Ox is going to do a much better job of actually redistributing the tongue weight to the tow vehicle over the Andersen. Are you worried about exceeding towing capacities?

Thank you Jameson - While rear axle loading is always an issue, in this case it is the overall weight. I might get a little help with hitching with a lighter WD hitch (keep dreamin') or at least have an easier time myself. If the Blue Ox does a better job with weight distribution then what the value proposition for the Anderson? I used both but could not make a comparison because the two Airstreams were very different. The Anderson was on our previous 20' and the Blue Ox is on our current 27'

@JohnH The Andersen can be effective if the tongue weight is under 500 lb or so but beyond that the type of tension it provides just doesn't do much since basically it pulls from front to back instead of pushing upwards like spring bars.
