Question:

Hi I have a 1997 dodge ram 2500 4wd with a 4 1/2” lift kit. Do airbags work for this set up to help enhance towing? If not, is there anything I can use? Thanks

Yes sir, I'd add an airbag kit to the rear axle to assist with leveling out the truck and trailer, and reducing some back and forth sway on turns and bumps. The Firestone setups tend to hold up a bit better, so I'd go with the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2071.

If you have a suspension lift, you'll most likely need the 4" spacer, part number # F2371. If you have a body lift, the suspension is fine as is without any spacers.

If you want to make sure you don't order parts you don't need, I'd get the air bag kit first and then measure the distance between the top and bottom brackets where the bag goes, and if you have between 9.5" and 10.5", you'll indeed need that # F2371 spacer. If not, let me know, and I'll find the correct spacer. Not all 4" suspension lifts truly need a 4" spacer.
