Does The Bauer Products T-Handle Lock for Truck Caps Turn Counterclockwise To Unlatch?

Updated 11/13/2025 | Published 10/20/2025

Question:

Clockwiseinch and counterclockwiseinch are meaningless without context. My existing handlesfoot locks rotate both ways. You state the lock rotates counterclockwise. Does this mean the lock cylinder is turned by the key counterclockwise to lock... or unlock? Or are you referring to the direction the handle turns? If so, context. Counterclockwise to latch, or unlatch?

Hello Ken, thanks for reaching out. I agree the wording on that page could benefit from being more specific and providing some context. I will work on getting that edited.

To answer your question, in regard to the Bauer Products T-Handle Lock for Truck Caps - Counterclockwise - Gloss Black # BA57VR, you would turn the handle counterclockwise to unlatch, clockwise to latch.

Hey Ken, how did things go with the Bauer T-handle lock once you tried turning it counterclockwise to unlatch? Knowing how it worked for you could help others understand the direction better.
