Question:
Hi guys I had a quick question about a spare tire for my trailer.. I have an 2022 Aluma 7814st and the tire and wheels that came on it seem to be difficult to find. The tires are Westlakes SuperST 205/75/r14 but with a load rating of C. The wheels are the 14 gunmetal Liger wheels that seem impossible to find but anyways my question is I was looking at the Kenda Karriers for a spare Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14 Black Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 Part Number: KE75EV So my main question is for a spare will it be ok even though the load ratings dont match as the OEMs are load rating C and the Kendas are are D ? again this would be used solely as a backup spare tire just in case. So I figured itd be ok but just wanted to double check with you first, Thanks in advance

Hi John!
Though you want the tires to match for consistent wear and stuff like that, the load rating being slightly higher on a spare will be perfectly fine. If it was a completely different size or a lower load range, I would be saying something else. The Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14 Black Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # KE75EV will worker perfectly as a spare for your 2022 Aluma 7814ST.
Now with all that being said, we actually do have the Liger wheel in gunmetal grey with the Lionshead Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel - 14" x 5" - 5 on 4-1/2 - Gunmetal Gray # LH84FR. I will admit to being a little surprised by that as Lionshead is pretty notorious for discontinuing wheels people like. This doesn't come with a tire mounted, but we also have the Kenda Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # KE88KV that sounds like will match what you currently have pretty closely. This will end up being a more expensive spare, but it would match the rest of your wheels.
Is this a precautionary buy, or did you have a "situation"?

Ok perfect, I figured it would be ok solely as a spare because like you said I'm not going down in load rating only slightly up. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the help! And as far as needing a spare, no situation has happened yet (fingers crossed) but I do use my trailer for towing a SXS and go pretty remote so I'd rather be safe than sorry having a backup wheel and tire. Lastly, I misspoke. I don't have the gunmetal gray I guess. I saw a listing on another site with the picture of the same wheels I have on mine but was listed as gunmetal gray. Apparently it's just silver or aluminum color. Here's the part # Aluma 14" Liger Wheel and Tire #60-0001396 Again thanks for the help!
