Question:
I have a 2022 GMC AT4 3500HD truck. I have a Curt 16 5th wheel sliding hitch connected to a puck system adapter. I see some notes saying the system will not work with a Curt 5th wheel hitch. Is that true and why?

Hey Bob, the issue with the PacBrake air bag kit part # PB85RV and Curt hitches is the underbed brackets for the rail kits interfere with the brackets of this kit. Instead we have the Firestone kit part # F2709 that is compatible and would work really well. We have found the Firestone bags to be the highest quality around so we recommend them whenever we can.
Are you wanting a compressor kit too?

I was looking at the Pacbreak airbag system because of the price point. The Firestone system is almost twice the price, so I would have to look closely at other options. Do you think the Firestone system is twice as good? The videos on your website suggest that the two systems are very comparable . Also my hitch set up is an old stile hitch that connected to permanent rails bolted to the bed/frame of my old 2015 truck. I use an adapter that goes into the puck system on my 2022 one ton, so the curt hitch rides above the bed. Not sure if the adapter would cause the same fit issues. My issue that I am trying to correct is that when I pull my 35 foot RV it squats enough to cause oncoming drivers , when I drive at night, to flash their lights at me thinking I have my high beams on. Other than that I have no ride issues, just got back from a 5000+ mile trip out west and tuck pulled like a dream. Do you have any alternative ideas to address the rear squat problem I’m having? Thanks for your time Bob
