Is the MORryde CRE3000 a Significant Upgrade to the Lippert Equaflex System?

Updated 10/02/2025 | Published 10/01/2025

Question:

Will the Morryde Cre3000 be a significant upgrade from my LCI Equaflex equalizer? I have a 2022 LZ Durango 250RED, 33” wheelbase, 1 3/4”w leaf springs. I know the 4000 would be a significant upgrade, but I didn’t know that would fit on this 1/2 ton RV. Also, my hanger brackets aren’t cut square like most. One side off the brackets are cut at an angle. I’m not sure if that matters. TIA.

Hey Jerry, thanks for reaching out!

I'm not sure if I'd say it will be a significant upgrade, but the MORryde CRE3000 Rubber Equalizers # MR87ZR is definitely the next step up to the Lippert Equaflex when it comes to quality, so I recommend going that route if you're for or needing an upgrade!

The MORryde ALLTREK 4000 # MR89DR may work, but you'll have to check out the linked qualifier file to verify if it will work with your trailer suspension.

Is your Equaflex worn out, or are you just looking for something better at this point in time?

Hey Jon, The equaflex is not worn out, that I can tell. I’m just trying to “soften” the violence that the fifth wheel is enduring. I’m constantly reattaching interior components due to them shaking loose/off/open, etc… Thanks. Jerry

@JerryS Makes sense! For a complete overhaul we have the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM49NQ, but for something that will definitely improve that ride quality (without doing a whole overhaul) I recommend going with the Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers # RM-2460 as opposed to swapping the Equaflex to the CRE3000. What do you have shaking loose/off/open in your trailer? We might have some things to help with it as well.

@JonG Thanks. I’m going to look in to the shock absorber option, RM-2460. That appears to be the better option. As far as what shakes loose; I’ve had to re-secure the microwave to the wall utilizing 1/4” plywood to provide a more secure mounting surface. I’ve better secured the window valences, as they fell off. I’ve installed flat magnets on drawers to keep them from sliding open. My next project is to figure out how to keep the fold out sleeper sofa from “dancing across the floor while rolling down the hwy.??

@JerryS Oh my goodness, that's nuts. Well, the shock kit will definitely help to mitigate the dancing while you're driving. I've also seen some people use butt hinges like part # MA87ZR to help secure the frame of a sofa couch to an RV floor, if you're interested in something like that.
