Does Weigh Safe Adjustable Pintle Hitch Have Slow And Movement That Causes Banging Around?

Question:
I run a skid steer trailer with a lunette ring that bangs around on my old pintle hitches. Does this one pull tighter or still have a lot of slop?

That’s a good question, Brian. With the Weigh Safe pintle drop hitch with balls # WS59WR (8" drop), you’ll still have some movement between the lunette ring and the pintle - that’s normal with any pintle setup. This is so you can use a variety of lunette rings with the same pintle hitch, and it will stay safe and secure despite standard noise from pintle hitches. Now since this is a brand new setup, it will likely be quieter since it's less worn than your old setup.
The benefit here is that you can easily switch between the pintle for your skid steer trailer and the included hitch balls for standard couplers, all while staying within the hitch’s 15,000-lb capacity. And since it has the built-in scale, you can at least confirm your tongue weight is right where it should be, which helps reduce sway and rough handling even if the pintle connection has some play.
What type of load are you normally hauling?
