Adding Some Roof Protection from Falling Acorns to a 2025 Subaru Forester

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 09/29/2025

Question:

Do you make something that protects from falling acorns. For a 2025 Subaru Forester/ padded cover, awning, something that attaches to a roof rack ? Regards, VJ

Hey VJ!

The best situation I've got for you is the Carpod Cargo Bag for Vehicle Roofs # M2204. We used to have a roof protection pad that would sit under roof bags like this that would be a good alternative, but it's no longer available and it would have to be removed when you drive.

All of the awnings swing out away from the vehicle and don't cover the roof of the vehicle itself which is why an awning won't really work out either.

Is this just at home, or do you have some squirrels following you around town and hurling acorns at your Forester? (My wife and I used to have squirrels throw acorns at us when we walked at a park early on in our marriage so I'm joking but kind of being serious at the same time).

Hey VJ, did the Carpod cargo bag give your Forester the protection you needed from those falling acorns? Knowing how it worked could help others looking for a simple roof safeguard too.

@JonG- this solution will not work. It’s just a storage bag. I will park away from tree. Thanks for reaching out
