Do You Have Replacement Brake Magnet Tekonsha 5110? What Electric Brakes do I Need?

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 09/18/2025

Question:

Hello, I am searching for a replacement brake magnet for a trailer. It uses a Tekonsha 5110 magnet but they seem to be not available anymore. Do you have a replacement that would work? Thank you

Hello Clinton,

I’m sorry, but that magnet is no longer available. The best solution is to replace the entire brake assembly. You’ll need to check your axle capacity to determine which set will work for your trailer.

- 3,500 lbs: etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # AKEBRK-35-SA

- 5,200 to 7,000 lbs: etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA

I’ve also attached a help article mainly for Step 4: “Break-in” New Brakes, which explains how to properly break-in your new brakes.

What kind of trailer will these be going on?

Hey Clinton, did you end up replacing the brake assembly on your trailer after finding the Tekonsha magnet unavailable? Knowing which setup worked could help others facing the same issue. Your update could make it easier for the next person looking for a compatible replacement.
