Easiest Way to Reinstall Storage Plate on Demco or etrailer Tow Bar
Updated 09/17/2025 | Published 09/09/2025 >
Question:
During reinstallation of the upper and lower storage plates, Im encountering alignment issues between the bolt hole and the plates. The springs make it challenging to maintain proper positioning, which complicates the insertion of the tow bars and bolt. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hey Rob!
Try getting everything mostly in place and then using the bolt to finally position everything up and you insert the bolt. Check out the 3:20 minute mark on the linked video of the Replacement Storage Plate # DM25VR to see what I'm talking about.
Does that help out at all?

I have tried that, but by the time I get to the lower plate the spacer plate and towbar are not lining up. I think my problem centers around the seating of the storage plates, they move a lot when I am trying to get the bolt through them.
