Hot afternoons and cool mornings can happen on the same trip, especially during spring and fall camping. This Coleman-Mach Mach 8 Plus gives you 15,000 Btu of cooling when the cabin heats up, plus a built-in heat pump for mild-weather electric heat. In cooling mode, the unit moves heat out of the RV. In heat pump mode, it reverses that process and pulls available heat from the outside air into the coach. That gives you a way to take the chill out without using propane, but it is best for moderate conditions and is not meant to replace your RV furnace in cold weather.
A rooftop AC should keep the RV comfortable without adding more height and bulk than necessary. The Mach 8 Plus uses an ultra-low 8-5/16" profile, helping the unit sit lower on the roof while still giving you the cooling output you need when summer heat builds inside the cabin.
Some parts of the day call for more airflow than others. When you get back from a long drive, a hike, or an afternoon in the sun, high-speed operation helps move 300 CFM of cooled air through the RV. At night, low-speed operation keeps air circulating with less noise, so the AC is less distracting while you sleep.

This rooftop AC is built for compatible Coleman-Mach systems that use R32 refrigerant. That fitment matters because newer R32 systems are not always interchangeable with older Coleman-Mach setups. This is the rooftop AC unit only, so a complete installation requires the correct Coleman-Mach interior components for your ducted or non-ducted setup. Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this Mach 8 Plus ultra low profile 15,000 BTU RV air conditioner with heat pump. Now this Coleman-Mach Mach 8 Plus is a 15,000 BTU rooftop RVAC with a built-in heat pump. So it's going to give you strong cooling during that hot weather, during those hot summer days, and it can also give you some added warmth when temperatures turn mild or cool. The heat pump is best thought of as a convenient option to take the chill out of the air of your RV.
It's not intended to replace a furnace in really cold conditions, just so you're aware of that. Before we go any further, let me give you some measurements. So looking at the length from back to front, we're sitting right at about 41 and 1/8 inches long. And then looking at the width, right at about 28 and 3/8 inches wide. And one of the biggest advantages of this Mach 8 Plus is the ultra low profile design.
So the height comes in right at about eight and 5/16 inches tall. And so this is going to sit closer to the roof than many of your traditional RV air conditioners. And it's going to give your RV a cleaner, less bulky rooftop setup without sacrificing its 15,000 BTU cooling capacity. This air conditioner weighs about 90 pounds, and it has a two motor airflow control. So when the RV's been sitting in the sun and you need to bring the temperature down, the higher setting's going to give you stronger airflow.
Once things are comfortable, the lower setting can keep the air circulating with less noise, which is going to be especially nice at night. This unit is rated for 300 CFM of airflow. For construction, this Coleman-Mach uses a fiberglass base pan, which is going to help give the rooftop unit the strength and durability that it needs without adding unnecessary weight. One of the biggest things to know before buying this is compatibility. This model is designed to be compatible with Coleman-Mach systems using the R32 refrigerant.
So it's not going to be backwards compatible with older systems, just so you're aware of that. And this is just going to be for the AC only. To get the proper use out of this, you will still need a air distribution box, and the thermostat, and all of those items have to be R32 compliant.
