Looking For New Bearings And Brakes For Tandem Axle Utility Trailer

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/08/2025

Question:

I have a utility trailer that is in need of some TLC. Its a tandem axle utility trailer. 6.5x12. Rated for 7k lbs. It has brakes on the rear axle. The bolt pattern is 5x5. I am not sure what bearings I need to use or upgrade to, as well as brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated ??

Hello Jonathan, thanks for reaching out. We should have the bearings and brakes you need, but there is no way to look up your trailer, or use the information you provided to know exactly what you need.

How old is this trailer? The best way to determine what you need will be to use the casting number on the hub. Brake drums will have a number cast on the front, while idler hubs have a number case on the back. In most cases we can use this number to look up what bearings and brakes you have.

Let me know what you find and I am happy to look into it and see what we can do.

Hey Jonathan, did you have a chance to check the casting numbers on your trailer's hub? I'm happy to help once you have that information.
