Does this come with the hitch pin to secure it to the receiver?

Eric, the Patriot # PH94FR comes with standard pins and clips for the adjustable platform, and for the receiver. You won't need anything else. That said, many folks upgrade to a locking hitch pin anyway to protect the investment, such as the # C23519.

Do you also have concerns about any sort of rattle or movement in the ball mount? It does have built-in rattle control, but not for the shank part that slides into the vehicle's hitch receiver. For that part, I'd add in the # e38FV.
