Hey Rod, good question but basically all weight distribution have sway control built in by the way they move some of the trailer's tongue weight up to the front axle of the tow vehicle but more specific to the Blue Ox part # BLU75FR there is friction sway control built into the head of the system where the bars attach to the head. So when you make a turn at all the spring bars have to rotate in the head of the system so the friction that is created there works to slow down and prevent any movement/sway which ends up reducing sway. You should note that if you are getting persistent sway that starts around like 50 mph that's not going to be solved by a system like this as instead you would need to move weight in your trailer forward.

How bad of sway are you getting?

My sway is mostly not extremely bad, but it surprises me quite often for no obvious reason making for a very stressful driving experience. It is more noticeable over 50 mph, but I've weighed everything, and my tongue weight is 12% of my gross trailer weight (this is within the recommended 10-15 percent). I'm using the Blue Ox #BXW1500 hitch on my new Grand Design Imagine RL2970 after General RV in West Chester, PA destroyed the U-bolts on the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control Hitch I had intended to reuse. I did not have these issues previously using the Reese hitch and I'm wondering if I should go back to it.

@RodW The Reese Dual Cam setups are really nice for sway control. I would argue they offer the best sway control. Your tongue weight does look about perfect so it's definitely not that. Is the trailer sitting perfectly level from front to back too? A nose high trailer will act similar to a trailer with not enough tongue weight.

@JamesonC Thanks so much for your objective opinion. With the equalization bars on, the trailer and truck both sit very level. I am having problems with the new trailer's Anti-Lock Brake System. The app on my phone shows it going from ONLINE to OFFLINE repeatedly. It seems like a stretch but is it possible this malfunctioning ABS could be randomly tapping the brakes causing the swaying?

@RodW Usually trailer brakes grabbing actually would stop swaying rather than cause it but I would say that is something to be concerned with. Now if the ABS system has ability to activate each brake assembly individually and not always both of them at same time then yes that malfunctioning could definitely cause it.
