What Directions can I Install Your etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers?

Updated 09/13/2025 | Published 08/26/2025

Question:

just a question about your anti rattle collar. Can it be mounted with the lightning screw to the side or on top. I have a 2018 CRV. Wouldnt want that screw to possibly sometime drag and get damaged. Thank you .

Hello Craig,

Yes, you can install our etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV so that the knob is to the right, and not on the bottom. I attached an image to show the correct ways to install it.

What are you you going to be using this with? Ball mount, bike rack, etc....

Hey Craig, did you decide on what you'll be using the anti-rattle collar with, like a ball mount or bike rack? I'm curious because it might help others who are considering similar setups.

@KateFeill The anti rattle attachment will be used for the ball hitch for a utility trailer. My 1UP bike rack has an internal tightening piece to prevent rattling or short term use. otherwise I put a pin i like a receiver ball hitch. Thanks for asking Kate.

@CraigM Our etrailer anti-rattle will be perfect for a ball mount. The 1UP bike racks are definitely something I wish we would get added to our site, I hear great things about all their racks. Thanks for sharing your feedback Craig =)

@Kate F The bike racks are anodized aluminum simple to use, My single when folded is out of the way for the hatch on my CRV so I csn leave it on the car. I don't think they sell thru any outlets just their factory. It's a small company and that's likely why.
