Electric Trailer Jack Powered By The Towing Vehicle's 7-Way

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/16/2025

Question:

I want an electric jack for my utility trailer that works off my 7 pin truck connection. 3500 pounds is ok. Do you make an adaptor from 2 wire to 7 pin or do I need a 7 pin connector jack?

Hi Dave!

I am not aware of an adapter that will do what you want, so I think the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 22-1/2" Lift - 5K # e74GV is your best option. It is also the quickest and easiest way to proceed.

That said, you could also use the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector # e99011 and wire the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 22-1/2" Lift - 3,500 lbs # e79GV to it. I like junction boxes as I think it makes fixing things easier.

What kind of trailer is this going on?

Hey Dave, did you decide to go with the electric trailer jack with the 7-way connector, or did you try the wiring upgrade kit with the junction box? I'm curious to know how it worked out for your trailer, as it could help others in a similar situation.
