Finding Replacement Hubs for Older Trailer
Updated 06/20/2014 | Published 06/18/2014 >
Question:
Hello I need two replacement hubs for an older trailer. The problem is the hub journal length is only 3inch , and the measurement between the two race stops is 2inch . The bearings are the same w/ 1inch bore , and seal flange is 1.5inch . The closest I could find replacement the bearings are a third of an inch too far apart . It seems very difficult to find this dimension . the overall hub length is 4inch but the outer race is set much deeper than all other hubs I can find . Thanks.

Identifying replacement hubs for your older trailer will require you to confirm a few details from your trailer: its axle weight rating, bolt pattern, and the existing bearing and seal numbers. If these cannot be found you instead will need to take precise measurements (to the nearest thousandth) using a digital caliper. The linked photo shows both the typical appearance and location of these part numbers. In the event you take measurements instead the spindle locations to be measured are also indicated.
I've included a link to our main page for hubs (hubs only, hubs with drums and hubs with rotors) where you can use the filters on the left-hand side of the page to narrow the results based on the characteristics you need. You can use your bearing numbers to match compatible hubs. A helpful article is linked for your reference.
If you wish you can advise your hub's bearing numbers and I can check the journal length of the compatible hubs we offer that use the same bearings.
