What Cost Effective Option do You Have to Raise the Front of My RV to Level it?

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/31/2025

Question:

I have contacted you before about a viable and inexpensive solution to solve my leveling problem. However, it doesnt appear that any of the suggested solutions are viable. I have a 2021 Thor Axis 25.6 with no built in leveling. I dont know why but the front sits 4 inches lower than the back. If the ground is not level and I need a couple of inches of height in the front that means six inches....that is very hard to do. I am thinking about adding electric levelers to just the front. What are my options regarding that?

Hello again Roger,

I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend using trailer tongue jacks like the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944037 for leveling your RV. A trailer jack is specifically designed for lifting the front of a towable trailer, not the full weight of a self-contained vehicle like a motorhome. These jacks are mounted to a trailer’s tongue and are rated only for tongue weight, which is a small portion of what a motorhome's front axle carries. Since motorhomes lack a tongue structure, attempting to use a trailer jack on the frame or bumper is unsafe, poses a risk of structural damage, and could lead to instability or collapse. Proper leveling requires equipment engineered for the weight, geometry, and stability needs of your RV.

I do not have a cost effective electric option, but I do have the Leveling Kit with Wheel Chocks for Trailers and RVs # WS28ER. You just drive up on them, drop the chocks in, and you are good to go.

What do you think about this option?

Hey Roger, Did you have a chance to try out the leveling kit with wheel chocks? I'm curious to know if it helped with your leveling issue. Let me know how it worked out for you, as it could be useful for others facing a similar challenge!
