The Demco Recon hitch that you mentioned # DM8550046 is specifically for flatbed trucks with a recessed gooseneck ball. If you have the regular Chevy 3500 with a gooseneck ball you would want to go with the Demco Recon # DM8550045 instead. That is the hitch that installs to regular gooseneck balls that sit above the bed when installed. It offers the same 21,000lb capacity you are looking for.
