Looking For A Replacement Pin Box For My 2021 Alliance With A Lippert Rhino Pin Box

Updated 06/30/2025 | Published 06/19/2025

Question:

We have a 2021 Alliance 370FB with the LCI Rota-Flex pin box. The manufacturer sticker does not list the model number but has a serial number and LCI item number as shown in the attached photo. We are considering replacing the Rota-Flex with either the Curt 18000 Helux or 18000 LCI Trail air 0719. Which pin box is recommended and model number is appropriate?

Hey Greg,

The pin box on your trailer is going to have the Lippert Rhino bolt pattern. The replacement I recommend for your model pin box is going to be the Curt Helux # C83RJ. The Curt Helux uses a coil spring system for its shock absorbing instead of the typical airbag or rubber spring like other models have. It is a maintenance free pin box so you won't have to worry about adjusting anything on it when towing. I would recommend that over any of the airbag option pin boxes due to its better durability and shock absorption.

Is there a certain part of the ride you are noticing when you tow that is making you want to upgrade?

Thank you Nick. Nothing in the ride that is making me consider the upgrade. My thought is the Helux would absorb or cushion the road shock rather than transmitting it right into the frame of the rv reducing the frame stress.

@Greg I reached out to Curt to get a more in depth run down of the Curt Helux, and it is going to do exactly what you're hoping. The Helux is going to absorb road shock more effectively than traditional pin boxes reducing the stress on the frame by up to 30%.
