Do I Need a Brake Light Relay to Flat Tow a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?

It sure does Troy. I checked with Roadmaster and you will need to use the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-88400 when flat towing a Rubicon model of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

It looks like you've done a couple flat tow set ups over the last couple years or so. What kind of motorhome do you have and are you needing any other parts for your 2020 Rubicon? I’ve been reading alot of owners are saying it is not required that the wiring in the rubicon does not allow the brake lights to override the blinkers. Other pros on your site have said it is not required but the stop light switch is required. Now I’m really confused

@Tkw I went directly to Roadmaster and they said to use it. It does look like different supplemental braking kit manufacturer's have different recommendations. Which one are you planning on using?

I’m using the Air Force one, and the road master 4 diode light wiring kit.

@Tkw Thanks for the info! It is recommended to use the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit item # RM-88400 with the Air Force One item # SM99243. Do your brake lights work when you go through the whole Park Neutral flat tow set up process on your Jeep? If they work you don't need a brake light switch.
