Question:

RE: Equalizer Model 90-00-1000 connecting Airstream Flying Cloud 25 to 2018 Toyota Tundra We are using the longer 18 shank to be able to open the tailgate. We would like to try a shorter shank. What other shank lengths are available? Do you have a part number? Thank you

Hey Tom and Kathy,

The original length shank that came on that Equalizer system was a 12", # EQ90-02-4100, shank. That is the shortest shank we have for the Equalizer systems rated for the same capacity as your system. That is my recommendation for going with a shorter shank for your unit.

How much shorter are you wanting to go with? If there is a specific length you need I can take a look and see if another brand makes a shorter one that is compatible.

Hey Tom and Kathy, did you have a chance to decide on the shank length you need for your setup? I'm here to help if you're still exploring options for a shorter shank.

@NickS IMPORTANT - We rotated our Barker 3000 jack 90 degrees. We then installed the 12-inch Equalizer shank. We now have clearance to open truck tailgate. Previously we needed the 18 inch shank, because we had a Toyota Sequoia with a hatchback. Thanks for follow-up.

@Tompalombo That is great to hear. I am glad rotating that jack was able to do the trick and going with the 12" shank that is good information to know for anyone else who may be wondering the same thing.
