Can Replacement Left/Curb Side Leg e63VV Be Used As A Standalone Jack

Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/10/2025

Question:

I am replacing a 12k single leg in the center front of a our horse trailer. The hose ports come out of the drivers side of the current leg. Can I order a curb side jack and use it as a stand alone jack in the center of the trailer or does it only work as a pair with the street side jack?

Hello Brandon, thanks for reaching out. The Replacement Left/Curb Side Leg for etrailer and Ram Hydraulic Jack # e63VV is intended to be used with the # e43VV power unit and # e73VV. The legs are designed to be used in tandem, but they can be used for single jack applications as well. The instructions cover both applications, as well as a jack and hoist cylinder application.

Do these jacks use a hydraulic cylinder to extend and retract or some type of screw mechanism. If it's hydraulic it's the cylinder serviceable or throw away

@ChrisP They use a hydraulic cylinder. There are no replacement parts available so I would have to say they are not serviceable. At least we do not have any kind of instructions or information on how to service them so unless you are super familiar with the inner workings of hydraulic trailer jacks they should not be disassembled and serviced. Hopefully you won't need to.
