Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Taskmaster Strider ST235/80R16 radial trailer tire in a load range E, and it's mounted on this 16-inch revolver black modular steel trailer wheel with the eight on six-and-a-half-inch bolt pattern. Now this is a heavy-duty, sturdy steel wheel, has the modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. And has a black finish on it. The black e-coat finish will help resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes.

The finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and it covers an e-coat primer layer. Does give the excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours, which is more than a galvanized wheel would. A few measurements on the wheel, the diameter of 16 inches, the width on just the wheel is six inches wide. Bolt pattern on the wheel is an eight on six-and-a-half-inch bolt pattern. And if we wanted to measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, eight, it's pretty easy because the lug holes, if you notice, are right across from each other.

So all you have to do is pick one of the holes, Let's say this one measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. On this, it'll measure six-and-a-half inches, so it's an eight lug, six-and-a-half-inch bolt pattern. This wheel will use a wheel lug size of either a 1/2"x20 or 9/16"x18, and the weight capacity on just the wheel by itself, 3,860 pounds. Now if you notice the center cap is not included. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separate on the website.

You do wanna make sure to get one that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole. 'cause when you install your center cap, it'll slide through this hole. Diameter on this pilot hole is 5.12 inches. Now the tire on this is a radial tire. It's constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life, great for highway use.

Has a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. And it is an St tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewall so they could handle heavy loads and it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which is gonna be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer 235/80R16, R means it's a radial tire. Section width, 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 30.8 inches. And we mentioned this as a load range E, which means it's a 10-ply rated tire. So it does have a maximum load capacity of 3,520 pounds at 80 PSI. And this tire does have a speed rating on it and they stamp the speed rating on the sidewall in a letter designation. And where you'll find it, if you go down to where the tire size is by the wheel, right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers which are the load index. And then after the numbers, there's a letter N. Speed rating N will mean this has a 87-mile-per-hour speed rating. Now this assembly does have a two-year platinum plus warranty, which will include emergency tire change service and other benefits. And it does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications, and exceeds your federal motor vehicle safety standards.
