Does The Furrion Chill Cube AC Unit Require A Distribution Box
Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/04/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2017 Keystone Montana and I am considering a Furrion Chill Cube for a replacement for the rear AC. My existing AC does not have a grill that come through the interior ceiling. The AC is ducted. Does Furion make a model that is a direct replacement or would I have to cut the interior ceiling to fit the Furrion grill. Thank You, Ron J

Hello Ron, thanks for reaching out. The Furrion Chill Cube can only work with a Chill Cube AC system. It must have its own distribution box, and thermostat. If your AC system does not use a typical ceiling mounted distribution box, it would not be possible to use the Chill Cube.
A lot of times when we see RV AC systems without distribution boxes, it is because it uses a different style of AC that bolts directly to the roof. Dometic makes these I believe. In these cases the only option for replacing your AC will be a direct replacement. Extensive modification would be required to install a Chill Cube system.
