Can DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE42FR Fit Spindle with Bearing Numbers LM67048 and LM11949
Updated 06/16/2025 | Published 06/02/2025 >
Question:
Good Afternoon. I am rebuilding a dual axle boat trailer. Axle spindles are 1.25 x 3/4 and take LM67048 and LM11949 bearings. Can you tell me if Qty: 4 DX22XR Idler Hubs plus Qty: 2 or 4 DE42FR Disc Brake Kits will work ? Im not clear on where / how the disc brake mounting bracket gets installed. Is there a better parts option / approach to what I am considering ? Thank-you. Doug

Hey Doug, your bearing numbers don't match up with current 3,500 lb trailer axle bearing configurations so I don't believe we'd have a set of hubs for your axle that would work. With that said if you somehow did get idler hubs that ift and the bolt pattern was 5 on 4-1/2 inch the # DE66YR could in theory fit but you'd need to have brake mounting flanges on the spindle currently.
I attached a picture of a spindle that has a brake mounting flange for you to compare to what you have on your trailer.

Hi Jameson. Turns out the idler hubs I sourced in Australia are going to be an issue to ship internationally, so I want to re-ask my original question and hopefully find a solution that I can source from etrailer - asap. On your website, Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 DX22XR state that they use LM67048 / LM11949 bearings. Which is a bearing match for my existing trailer axle / spindles - meaning those idler hubs should fit. So, to use a disc brake on the DX22XR idler hubs, would the DeeMaxx 10" Rotors (DE47VR) work ? or the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit 10" Rotors (DE42FR) ? The DX22XR idler hubs are 5 on 4-1/2" and the DeeMax 10" Rotors (DE47VR & DE42FR) are also 5 on 4-1/2", so I am assuming they will fit and work ? Please confirm. Thank-you. Doug Wright

Thank-you Jameson. I can source disc brake hubs w/ correct bearings for my spindles. Just need to weld an axle mounting plate. Which I also sourced. Thanks again.
