Question:
Hello, I was hoping you could help me. I have a boat trailer and the pigtail has the very small trailer wire in it, all the big tails have larger wire. The connector has 4 prongs and is round and plugs into my truck. Can you recommend a pigtail with the small wire? The wire in pigtail is same size as standard trailer wire lights , very small. Thank you

Hey Greg. I have two different types of 4-way connectors that take smaller wire. I have listed them below:
4-Pole Round - Pollak Heavy-Duty, 4-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Connector item # PK11402 - We do not have one with a pigtail but this connector accepts up to 12 gauge wire.
4-Flat - Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector item # HM48110 - This connector has 16 gauge wire for the ground and 18 gauge for the other functions.
What gauge wire is on your boat's connector? It typically says it somewhere on the sheathing. You can add this information and any other questions you have in the box below that says Reply to Jerred H.
